What Does the Curriculum Support Teacher (CST) Do?

The Curriculum Support Teacher works with classroom teachers to strengthen instruction and improve student learning (specifically in math, science, and social studies). They help plan lessons, provide resources, and support the use of effective teaching strategies. Their role is to ensure that the curriculum is being taught in a way that meets the needs of all students. Ms. Blamires as is in charge of field trips, continuous achievement, student placement, and much more!

What Does the MTSS/504 Coordinator Do?

The MTSS/504 Coordinator helps ensure that all students receive the support they need to be successful in school. They lead the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process, which provides academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions based on each student’s needs. They also coordinate 504 Plans for students who require accommodations due to a disability. The Chair works closely with teachers, families, and specialists to monitor progress and make sure support plans are effective and up to date.

What Does the Literacy Coach Do?

In Fulton County Schools, the Literacy Coach supports teachers and students by helping improve reading and writing instruction. They work closely with classroom teachers to plan lessons, model effective teaching strategies, and analyze student data to guide instruction. The Literacy Coach also leads professional development and helps ensure that literacy instruction aligns with Georgia Standards and best practices. Their goal is to strengthen literacy skills for all students and support teachers in creating engaging, effective learning environments.

What Does the Instructional Support Teacher Do?

The Instructional Support Teacher (IST) in Fulton County Schools plays a key role in helping students with disabilities succeed. They work closely with teachers, families, and school staff to improve instruction and learning outcomes. ISTs support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), coach teachers on effective strategies, and help monitor student progress. They also assist with classroom management, provide professional development, and ensure compliance with state and federal special education guidelines. Their goal is to make sure every student receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
